The short version
- ✓ No account is required for anything.
- ✓ Colors, palettes, and uploaded images are processed in your browser — they never reach our servers.
- ✓ We never sell personal data.
- ✓ Local storage is used only for convenience (theme, game stats, recent colors) and stays on your device.
- ✓ Google Analytics and AdSense load only if you accept them on the cookie banner.
- ✓ The contact form stores exactly what you type into it, used only to reply to you.
What we don't collect
Kolorvia's color tools — the converters, the palette generator, the gradient builder, the contrast checker — perform their calculations entirely inside your browser, using code that runs on your device. The colors and values you enter are never sent to our servers, so we have no record of what you convert, generate, or copy.
The same is true of images. When you drop a photo or screenshot into the image color picker or the color blindness simulator, it is read and processed locally by your browser. There is no upload — not to us, not to anyone. Nothing you work with leaves your device unless you explicitly copy or download it yourself.
What we do collect
Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited), kept for security and for diagnosing problems — the same records nearly every website keeps. If you consent to analytics (see Cookies and consent), we also see aggregate statistics about which pages and tools are used. We don't require an account for anything, so there is no profile of you to build.
To power the “exploring right now” counter on the homepage, we keep a short-lived, anonymous record of active sessions: a one-way hash of the session identifier and a timestamp, nothing else — no IP address, no browser details, and no link to any content you view. Entries stop counting after five minutes and are deleted shortly after.
If you contact us
When you use the contact form, we store exactly what you submit — your name, email address, chosen topic, and message — in our database so we can read it and reply. That information is used only to respond to you: it is never added to a mailing list, never shared with third parties, and never sold. If you'd like a message you sent deleted, ask in a new message and we'll remove it.
Local storage
Local storage is a small area inside your own browser that websites can use to remember things between visits. It stays on your device — it is not a tracking mechanism, and nothing in it is uploaded to our servers.
Kolorvia uses it for convenience only: your light/dark theme preference, your cookie-consent choice, recently used colors in some tools, and your Color Match progress and statistics. You can clear all of it at any time through your browser's site-data settings; the only consequence is that those preferences reset.
Third-party services
The complete list of third-party services on Kolorvia is short:
- Google Analytics — aggregate usage statistics; loads only with your consent.
- Google AdSense — advertising; loads only with your consent.
There are no other trackers, no social media pixels, and no third-party scripts running the tools themselves — the color math is ours and runs locally. If we ever add a service, this section is where it will be listed.
Advertising
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies allows it and its partners to serve ads to our visitors based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. You can read more about how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Your choices
- Decline analytics and advertising entirely by choosing “Necessary only” on the cookie banner — every tool works identically either way.
- Opt out of personalized ads through the Google links in the Advertising section above.
- Clear local storage from your browser's settings to reset your theme, consent choice, recent colors, and game statistics.
- Ask us to delete a contact-form message you sent.
- Ask questions about any of this through the contact page.
Children's privacy
Kolorvia is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; the only personal information we collect at all is what's voluntarily submitted through the contact form.
Security
The most effective security measure on Kolorvia is architectural: the colors and images you work with are never transmitted to us, so they can't be exposed by us. For what we do hold — server logs and contact messages — we take reasonable technical measures to protect the site and its infrastructure, including serving everything over HTTPS.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and revise the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Meaningful changes — like adding a new third-party service — will be reflected in the relevant section, not buried.
